Internet Gateway Capability

With no reconfiguration of network applications, the Network Address Translation (NAT) feature provides transparant Internet access for all computers on your private LAN. NAT is a standard for Internet sharing, widely supported by the major firewall vendors and while operating beneath the routing layer, it out-performs application layer proxies.

NAT works on TCP/IP packets and it supports all LAN clients, regardless of their Operating Systems.

Features Summary

  • Transparent out-of-the-box Internet Sharing.

  • Supports all standard TCP/IP applications.

  • Special Ping and Traceroute support.

  • Special support for active FTP, IRC DCC, Identd and CUSEEME protocols.

  • Real-time NAT statistics,
Not all people like to share. In the InJoy products, real-time statistics reveal which LAN Clients that are accessing the Internet through NAT and how much data the individual clients are transferring.

  • DNS Forwarding,
Time-saving convinience feature, allowing the gateway operator to specify the IP address of the public DNS Server in only one location. Rather than filling the address into the configuration of every internal PC, the LAN clients simply reference a fake static IP (e.g. 1.1.1.1), which is then auto-translated to the public DNS IP address as it flows through NAT.

  • Hand-optimized high-performance implementation.

  • Support for up to 1000 NAT clients.

  • Firewall Integration.
