Press Release
Holbaek, Denmark, October 20, 2005 — FX Communications
(www.fx.dk), a leader in
advanced networking solutions and IT security, announced today the
initial decision of the U.S. Navy SPAWAR Command center to focus
their IPv4/IPv6 security application development on FX's IPSec/VPN
toolkit and Packet Intercepting driver for Linux.
SPAWAR (http://www.spawar.navy.mil/),
The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center San Diego (SSC San Diego), is
the U.S. Navy's research, development, test and evaluation,
engineering and fleet support center for command, control and
communication systems and ocean surveillance.
SSC San Diego provides information resources to support the joint
warfighter in mission execution and force protection.
"Our goal is to provide innovative technical solutions for applying next
generation IP technology for the US Navy and Marine Corps. An important
interest is developing network protocols used in conjunction with IPSec
to make routing of unicast and multicast VPN-traffic seamless in very
dynamic, mobile IPv4 and IPv6 networks. We have been looking for a
product that allows rapid prototyping and development of protocols
for these purposes.
The FX IPSec/VPN Toolkit with its quick, getting started template
applications allows us to implement new ideas very quickly with much
reduced programmer costs. The rich feature set allows fine control
of the IPSec implementation and gives us the flexibility that we
need to implement new ideas effectively.", said Roger Ogden, U.S. Navy Space and Warfare Systems Center., San Diego.
FX's IPSec/VPN enabling technology addresses the obvious demand for a
multi-platform, standards-based IPv4/IPv6 component, which can be easily
implemented into existing or new software for the purpose of providing
100% tamber-proof security over the public Internet.
The IPSec/VPN toolit is incorporated transparently within the network
layer and is suitable for a number of applications, such as VoIP,
wireless security, firewall applications, and any other Internet
communications where security is essential.
About SPAWAR
The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center San Diego (SSC San Diego)
is one of five field activities of Space and Naval Warfare Systems
Command (SPAWAR). SPAWAR and its systems centers provide much of the
tactical and non-tactical information management technology required
by the Navy to complete its operational missions.
SSC San Diego was established June 1, 1940 as the Navy's first West
Coast laboratory. It is headquartered in San Diego, California, with
other sites at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; Barrigada, Guam; Yokosuka,
Japan; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Stuttgart, Germany; and Bahrain.
The Center employs 3,400 civilian and military personnel, the majority
of them engineers, scientists and technicians developing technology
to meet the Navy's information requirements of the future and providing
Fleet support to keep current information systems running.
Founded in 1996, FX Communications is a leading developer of secure
networking software and OEM developer toolkits. With the introduction of
an integrated, platform-independent software architecture and unique next
generation Firewall protection, FX has earned a preeminent role in the
communications industry. The leading position is illustrated by the fact
that FX was selected by both Nortel Networks and Cisco Systems as their
exclusive VPN software partner for their enterprise OS/2 customers.
