Press Release

Network testing specialist, Synthetic Networks Inc. (SNI) (now part of Agilent Technologies), selects F/X's IPSec VPN and Packet intercepting enabling technology to enhance their Linux based NetPreassure solution.

Holbaek, August 10, 2003 - F/X Comunications today announced that Synthetics Networks has successfully implemented F/X Communications' comprehensive IPSec VPN and Packet Intercepting enabling technology for their market-leading NetPreassure network testing solution.

Synthetics Networks, one of the world's leading network testing providers, develops high performance network testing tools for network equipment manufacturers.

"In essence, we break network equipment so their customers cannot. Our testing infrastructure must be reliable, scalable, and robust. That is, it must meet or exceed the functionality and quality of the environments it tests.", said Russ Couturier, Ph.D. Chief Technology Officer, Synthetics Technologies.

Mr. Couturier continued "When looking for a toolkit to develop our security testing suite, these same factors governed our selection process. A toolkit that could scale linearly in our environment, that keeps current with functional standards, could be easily tailored to our product without architectural changes, and would exceed the quality offered by our customers. Both the F/X product offering and technical support has exceeded our requirements and expectations. Using their toolkit and support, we integrated the VPN technology into our product line ahead of schedule and are successfully deploying our product.

We evaluated other technologies that were more expensive with larger support organizations. We could not be happier with our decision. F/X technology and support has enabled us to offer a high quality comprehensive VPN testing solution to our market space in a very short period of time. We will always look to F/X first as a supplier of our future technology needs."

Adding F/X's programmable IPSec VPN enabling technology to existing solutions allow network solution providers to enjoy unique levels of flexibility and standards-based operation. In addition, the high performance design, the multi-platform support and the extensive interoperability testing enable rapid time to market and continued revenue assurance for the customers.

"Synthetics Networks has emphasized the value of our IPSec Developer Toolkit, by using it as a reference implementation for testing high-end third party operation and performance. We are proud to deliver a product that offers the level of standards compliance, speed and functionality required by Synthetics.", said Bjarne Jensen, director, F/X Communications
