Press Release

FX develops "always-on" Mobile IPv6 Client to help Japan's leading carrier enhance its 3G network service offering.

Holbaek, Denmark, August 2, 2005 — FX Communications (www.fx.dk), a leader in advanced networking solutions and IT security, announced today, CTC's decision to have FX develop a Mobile Client for one of Japan's leading telecommunication companies. CTC (www.ctc-g.co.jp), a Tokyo-based networking company and part of the global fortune-10 ITOCHU TECHNO-SCIENCE Corporation, is a leading provider of total computing solutions in Japan.

With the Mobile IP technology, a mobile device — such as a 3G cellular phone or a laptop computer — can be addressed by the same IP address anywhere in the world, regardless of the network to which it is currently physically attached. With seamless handover between 3G networks, a user can take the public routable IP address on the road and roam securely, without ever losing connections with the home-office or operator.

"Because our customer's ambition develops in parallel with the aggressive growth of the Japanese broadband communications market, time to market and reliability are crucial factors in gaining the competitive edge. As an already satisfied customer of FX's IPSec/VPN toolkit for both Windows and Linux, we were already well aware of FX's unique technical capability in the areas of platform-neutral driver development and IP-agnostic networking technology. Following a number demonstrations and very positive meetings with FX in Denmark, we concluded that FX was the right partner for the next-generation IP mobility client. In fact, before we got in contact with FX Communications, an excellent development company in Japan had tried for one year to develop all the features that FX had ready in just a few months. A company like FX may exist in Japan, but if it does, we don't know it. As a result of FX's rapid development services and the excellent reliability of their components, we are able to successfully conclude our project and cooperation, while keeping FX as one of our preferred partners.", said Yozo Ishikawa, Project Leader of Telecommunication Sales, CTC.

FX's mobility client addresses the need within the telecommunication industry for a customizable IPv6-based Mobile IP Driver for Windows XP. It is incorporated transparently within the network layer and is suitable for a number of applications, such as seamless roaming for enterprise employees and cutting-edge VoIP handsets.

FX's implementation of the Mobile IPv6 client is based upon industry standards, including the Mobile IP protocol, certificate-based 802.1x authentication, IPSec security, and DHCPv6-based IP address assignment. The resulting client is a powerful "soft-phone" that is usable all over the world with modern 3G networks, such as WLAN, GPRS, 3G, CDMA, EV/DO and WiMAX.

"FX is extremely proud to contribute to a project of this scale and we have enjoyed working with CTC and its staff. We truly believe the features of Mobile IP and the perspective of using it in any wireless device is nothing less than the next step in man's desire to roam free. Having lived with the limitations of IPv4 for a number of years, Mobile IP — despite its infancy — is really the stuff networking dreams are made of. It is something that is usable for any vendor who plans to launch services and products for wirelss multi-network environments. We believe most network operators will adopt this technology in the future and FX is ready to support those that do.", said Bjarne Jensen, CEO and founder of FX Communications.
